Coordination Meeting of Category 2 Institutes and Centres under the auspices of UNESCO and UNITWIN Networks/UNESCO Chairs related to Culture

UNESCO category 2 institutes and centres (C2Cs) and UNITWIN Networks/UNESCO Chairs are valued intellectual and strategic partners of UNESCO, that share the common objective to contribute to the execution of UNESCO’s strategies and programmes through research, knowledge-sharing and advanced training, and to mobilize national and regional institutions and networks for the execution of the work of UNESCO. There are currently 24 category 2 institutes and centres and more than 65 UNITWIN Networks/UNESCO Chairs related to the UNESCO Culture Sector.

This meeting provided an excellent opportunity for those institutions to share experience and knowledge, to promote interaction, and to explore the possible establishment of a network to strengthen cooperation and synergies among C2Cs and Chairs in the field of culture (http://en.unesco.org/events/coordination-meeting-category-2-institutes-and-centres-under-auspices-unesco-and-unitwin).
