Our Buddy Program seeks to connect students of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences with international students, who enrol in Dresden as students of our field. Registration and participation in the program are free.
Goals
Our main objective is to integrate you as best as we can in Dresden and to help you get startet in the new city as well as at our university. In order to do that, we will match you with a student currently enrolled in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences before the term has even started. Your Buddy will then try to help and support you in all matters of your life in Dresden for the duration of your stay.
Your Buddy can help you with:
- Your arrival in Dresden (including, for instance, help with finding an appartment)
- Leisure activities and social life in and around Dresden
- The composition of your course schedules and the Learning Agreement or with questions about academic standards of your studies
- Bureaucratic appointments, such as (if needed) the registration process in Dresden, the opening of a bank account, getting an insurance
Why should you participate?
- By participating in the program, you can expand your inter- and intracultural competences, while learning more about other cultures
- It is perfect for making new contacts with open-minded people, both Dresden and international students
- You receive support in your every day life at the university
- By participating regularly in the Program and handing in a short reflexion sheet at the end, you will receive 2 ECTS (without a grade) for your Learning Agreement.
