Management Accounting and Control is one of the business major with high demand in both firms and non-for-profit organisations. Our alumnis work directly in controlling functions, but also in related areas such as consulting, finance and accounting, auditing, taxation or project management. However, management accounting skills are also mandatory for marketing, production or logistics specialist. The chances on the labor market for controllers are still and have been excellent for the last decades.
The teaching concept is based, on the one hand, on solid skills in finance and accounting enabling students to solve operational and strategic problems in practice. On the other hand, students will be trained for the wide spectrum of modern management control approaches which help senior managers to develop and manage efficient management control systems.
Besides classical lectures we offer a mix of interactive teaching elements such as PC lab sessions with real business cases, Excel training classes, case studies, group work concerning analyses of real life firms, as well as seminars and talks of experienced practitioners. At the moment our students can choose among more than 10 modules covering a broad spectrum of management accounting and control topics.
