Mentoring program of the ZIS
At the suggestion of our alumni, the Center for International Studies at TU Dresden established a mentoring program for IB students, which has been running very successfully since 2012 with the participation of 20 to 40 mentees and over 150 mentors each year. The idea behind this program is that each current student is paired with an alumna or alumnus of the degree program as a mentor, who provides advice and support on all future-oriented questions related to their studies, internships, potential master’s or postgraduate programs, and future employers. Through the mentoring program, many students have already been able to connect with mentors from a wide range of graduating classes and gain professional and practical guidance.

Then you’ll find a link here to a regularly updated list of mentors. To access it, you’ll need a password, which is shared when the invitation to participate in the program is sent out and can also be requested from the ZIS. The mentoring program restarts annually during the winter semester and is open to IB undergraduate students starting in their 3rd semester and IB graduate students starting in their 1st semester. If you’d like to participate in the mentoring program—once a new application round begins—you can do so as follows:
- Select up to three mentors from the anonymized list.
- Write a short message introducing yourself to your potential mentors. Send this message, along with the numbers of your preferred mentors, to the following email address: .
- We will match you with a mentor accordingly and forward your request. The mentors will then let us know which students they have chosen to mentor—or whether they have decided to mentor at all.

The ZIS facilitates the establishment of mentoring relationships anonymously. A call for participation in the program is issued annually during the winter semester; of course, you can be added to the mentoring list at any time throughout the year.

- We will anonymize your information and add it to the regularly updated list of mentors. This list is password-protected and accessible to current IB students.
- If a student applies for your mentoring offer, we will forward the request to you promptly. You can then decide whether you would like to take on the mentoring role.
