Who we are
The chair was set up in 2016. One of our main tasks is the implementation and coordination of the newly established international Master's programme Ecosystem Services.
We are and have been involved in international initiatives and assessment processes such as the TEEB Initiative on The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity, or in the framework of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services IPBES.

The Chair of Ecosystem Services
One of our main tasks is the establishment, implementation and supervision of the in 2016 newly created international Master's programme "Ecosystem Services", that links the interdisciplinary expertise of IHI Zittau, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences of the Technische Universität Dresden, the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History in Görlitz and the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development in Dresden.
In addition, the members of the chair are active in numerous national and international scientific committees and professional associations, such as the Innovation Network Ecosystem Services Germany (ESP-DE), the German MAB National Committee or the European Society for Ecological Economics (ESEE).
We are also active in PRISMA, the Centre for Sustainability Assessment and Policy of the Technische Universität Dresden, partner institutions of DRESDEN-concept and other partners who are working on sustainability assessments.
