Teaching

The chair provides study modules for Master's programmes both at the IHI Zittau and at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. Courses are offered within the MA programmes “Ecosystem Services” (IHI Zittau) and “Spatial Development and Natural Resource Management” (Faculty of Environmental Sciences).

Interdis­ciplinary Centre for Transform­ative Urban Regenera­tion

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Transformative Urban Regeneration (IZS) in Görlitz is jointly run by TU Dresden (IHI Zittau) and the Leibniz Institute for Ecological Spatial Development (IOER) in Dresden. Prof. Knippschild is the head of the IZS as part of his function as professor for Ecological and Revitalizing Urban Transformation.

Research

The research of the chair is embedded in the IZS-Görlitz. The IZS is orientating its research on the knowledge requirements of the practical field. With the embedding into a theoretical and methodical frame, those requirements become research issues and research projects with a regional, national and continental scope.

Welcome to the website of our Chair of Ecological and Revitalizing Urban Transformation at the IHI Zittau. The Chair is appointed jointly by TU Dresden and the Leibniz Institute for Ecological Spatial Development (IOER) located in Dresden.
