Report on the symposium "Business & Human Rights in Autocracies" organised by the Volkswagen Foundation

Eckhard Burkatzki published a report on the symposium "Business & Human Rights in Autocracies" for the Deutsches Netzwerk Wirtschaftsethik - DNWE.

The symposium was organised by the TUD Chair of Responsible Management, led by Prof. Dr. Markus Scholz, at Herrenhausen Palace in Hanover from 6-8 November 2023. The event was part of the Human Rights in Times of Multiple Challenges theme week, which was organised and funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. 

The purpose of the event was to explore the opportunities and limits of corporate political responsibility in the context of business activities, both theoretically and conceptually. Representatives from academia, business, politics, and civil society discussed possible ways for businesses to protect human rights in autocratic contexts.
