Kapteina Awarded Add-on Fellowship by Joachim Herz Foundatio

Dr. Benedikt D. S. Kapteina, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of Business Administration, specializing in Responsible Management, at the International Institute for Management at the Technical University of Dresden, has been honored with the prestigious Add-on Fellowship by the Joachim Herz Foundation.

The fellowship, amounting to a total of €15,500, supports outstanding scientists whose interdisciplinary research addresses highly relevant societal issues and directly contributes to achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. The fellowship enables Dr. Kapteina to further develop his research on corporate political influence and the interactions between business and democracy.

“This fellowship not only provides me with financial support but also the opportunity to elevate my research to a new level and integrate it into new networks and disciplines such as political science. In times when responsible corporate governance and political influence are increasingly coming into societal focus, it is crucial to work interdisciplinarily and to translate scientific insights into practical solutions. Particularly in politically turbulent times, it is essential to explore and better understand the complex interactions between business and democracy,” explains Dr. Kapteina.

The Add-on Fellowship by the Joachim Herz Foundation is awarded annually to emerging scholars. It is a personal support program that promotes interdisciplinary work by early-career researchers and provides them with insights into related disciplines. The support includes funding for research purposes, conference participation, research stays, training, and other measures that directly support the research of the fellows. Additionally, the foundation organizes networking events for the fellows.
