Markus Scholz in the Sächsische Zeitung's TUD special on the 2024 elections
In 2024, the citizens of Saxony will face important political decisions, including European and local elections in June and state elections in September. The question of the future of democracy will play a central role in these elections.
How might one prepare for this? On what basis might one make responsible decisions? The current special page of the TU Dresden in the Sächsische Zeitung presents three researchers who approach the question from a social science, law, and economics perspective. The aim is to enable responsible decision-making and provide insights into the interrelationships between the state, the economy and society. Among other things, three researchers from the TU Dresden are analysing how political education can reach all people, what freedoms the German constitution grants and what conditions a successful market economy requires.
The third point, the relationship between the form of government and the economy, is addressed by Prof. Markus Scholz. What conditions does a market economy need to be successful? Should entrepreneurs get involved or position themselves politically? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
