Plant Functional Morphology, Anatomy and Biomechanics

Summary: Plants gain increasing interest for the development and design of new types of biomimetic materials and constructions. An essential prerequisite for the transfer of properties from plants to materials science and engineering, is an in depth knowledge of structure-function relationships in plants, as well as a basic understanding of engineering methods that will be content of the module.
