Plant-Microbial Interactions

Summary: Plant diseases cause huge economical losses, but the interaction between the partners is the result of long evolutionary processes. The interaction between plants and pathogens, their life cycles in the host plants, defence mechanisms of plants against microbes and insects as well as the role of secondary metabolites in such interactions will be part of the module. Further, the impact of such interactions and their products on the production of bioactive compounds will be discussed.
