Barcoding of Life

Summary: Across all disciplines of biology, molecular markers play an important role in breeding and offspring selection. In addition, they are widely used in classification of unknown genotypes, cultivars, and hybrids. In this hands-on module, the students learn what molecular markers are, how they can be generated, and how they can be used for cultivar assignment and biodiversity assessment.
