Working Group Biodiversity presents at the conference "Real-world laboratories - experimental spaces for the path to a sustainable society"
Last week, the Working Group (AG) Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services at TU Dresden took part in the conference "Real-world laboratories - experimental spaces for the path to a sustainable society", which was organized by the Leibnitz Institute of Ecological and Regional Development on 11 and 12 April 2024. Lisa Junge, a research associate at IHI Zittau and head of the working group, presented the poster "Biodiversity for the TU Dresden Campus" on 11 April during the poster session, which was organized as a poster walk. The poster was placed in the open topic strand alongside other posters that focussed on sustainability at universities using real-world laboratories. Exciting questions about the work of the working group were asked by interested conference visitors.
In addition, the conference offered a wealth of insights into the methodology of real-world laboratories, which is currently still quite new for the working group. Conference participants were able to take part in interactive workshops, which led to an active dialogue. There were also traditional presentations and discussions. The keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Schneidewind, Lord Mayor of the City of Wuppertal, who contributed inspiring thoughts on the topic, was particularly exciting.
Many thanks to the conference organizers, who provided plenty of opportunities for networking and transdisciplinary exchange.
