Service Learning Course in Winter Semester 22/23: PraxiSDG
praxiSDG activates knowledge, skills and intuition in a target-oriented way towards sustainability of institutions or corporations in the non-profit/civil-society sector. In doing so, you will learn to act as change agents in programme design, strategy or operative activities within your preferred partner organization. Based on the respective needs of the partner organizations, you will design your individual project in a collaborative way, including a precisely formulated aim for self-determined, sustainability-related action. This enables you not only to learn about the significance of volunteerism, but also to evaluate and reflect its opportunities and risks vis-à-vis your individual study contexts. Therefore, feel explicitly encouraged to promote your own, already existing, non-profit and sustainability-driven partner-organization project!
This year, the Chair of Environmental Management will support praxiSDG and act as a practice partner organization, presenting a project idea "BIOdiversity at the TUD" (BIO-TUD). BIO-TUD aims to provide an overview of all existing activities of the TUD regarding biodiversity to afterward efficiently form synergies and enable cooperation. Therefore, first, an “interactive map” will be created to explore various biodiversity-related working groups, modules and organizations. To understand the demands of the identified stakeholders, the development and distribution of a survey will be part of the project. A "biodiversity knowledge platform" can then be created with the help of the survey results to share and discuss biodiversity-relevant topics (SDG 14 & 15) and generate further project ideas to contribute to halting biodiversity loss through exchange and cooperation as well as partnerships (SDG 17).
