Biography
Bo Liu received his PhD in Energy and Materials Science, focusing on batteries, fuel cells, and renewable energy systems at TU Dresden (2020).
From 2013–2018, he was a research associate at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research (IFW Dresden), working on new energy materials and electrochemical energy storage.
Since 2020, he has served as Head of R&D at Enorm Smart Technik (EST) / brand Apollo, leading R&D collaborations on AI-driven energy and communication systems.
Since May 2025, he has been a research associate at the Chair of Information Theory and Machine Learning (ITML), TU Dresden. In this dual role, he connects academic research with industrial application at the interface of AI, automation, and energy systems engineering.
Research Interests
- AI-driven energy management (PV/H₂/Battery, edge AI, digital twins)
- Secure & deterministic CPS communication (semantic protocols, 6G-oriented concepts)
- Industrial AI & control (anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, adaptive control)
- Data architectures & MLOps (DAQ, data quality, schema/metadata, reproducibility)
- Fuel-cell systems engineering (modelling, diagnostics, lifetime & efficiency)
