Course description:
The seminar "Computer Architecture and Programming" offers students the opportunity to prepare for the scientific work required for their final thesis. The participants familiarize themselves with a given topic and work out its significance. This includes the development of other approaches known in the literature and a comparison with these. The topics offered include a practical part in which a small evaluation or assessment should take place. In particular, it is possible to use the ZIH high-performance computing systems for this evaluation.
Procedure:
Selection of the desired topic and registration with Dr. Robert Schöne.
The main seminar takes place in independent work and is supervised by a ZIH employee. At the end of the semester, each student presents his or her main seminar work in a lecture and documents his or her results in a 20-page report(template). The topics offered are based on current research topics and offer an insight into possible topics for final theses or other student work such as vouchers or research projects.
Further information and topics can be found under OPAL.
