Course description:
The course "Structure and Operating Principle of Processors" provides an overview and specialized knowledge in the field of current processors.
It is a useful continuation of the compulsory courses "Computer Architecture I" and "Computer Architecture II" as well as a supplement to the courses of the subject area "Computer Engineering". In the course "Structure and Operating Principle of Processors", both the programming interface and the microarchitecture of selected processors of different concepts and processor families are dealt with. This lays an important foundation for tuning sequential and parallel programs.
Development trends in processor architecture are presented as an outlook.
