Networking with Alumnus Alexander Sakowski (16.12.21)
Bastian Alexander Sakowski, former scholarship holder of the 2nd Boysen TU Dresden Research Training Group, opened the alumni initiative with the first networking event. After his time in the group from 2015 to 2018, he is currently part of a 3-year structured "International Production and Technology" entry-level program at Evonik Industries AG. He has already completed his first assignment in production as Deputy Plant Manager in Marl, Germany, and is in the middle of his second assignment as Senior Process Engineer in Shanghai, China. There he specializes in process optimization, project management, digitization and small investment projects. As a follow-up position, he is aiming for a multi-year assignment in Singapore from the end of 2022.
In his keynote speech, he spoke about his research project at the Boysen-TUD-RTG (carbon dioxide capture from biogas), about experiences and take-aways from three years in the group, and his personal development. In the lively discussion with the current scholarship holders, Mr. Sakowski gave valuable tips, motivated the attendees, and talked about his findings during the period of intensive interdisciplinary cooperation.
His dissertation has been submitted and will be defended in 2022. We sincerely wish you all the best!
