Studying at the Chair of Polymer Materials
The courses offered at this professorship are integrated into the range of courses offered by the Institute of Materials Science. Together with its non-university partners in Dresden, the Leibniz Association, the Fraunhofer Society and the Max Planck Society, this offers modern scientific education.

The Materials Science degree programme
The Materials Science degree programme covers materials research, including nanotechnology. Materials occupy a key position because they are at the beginning of every production process (production of components, machines and systems) in the economy. Materials scientists deal with metallic, ceramic and polymer materials as well as composite materials. Biomaterials have been added to these groups. Materials scientists derive the respective properties from their atomic structure, structure and microscopic structure.
