Last week, the time had finally come to investigate the influence of increased inflow turbulence on the wind loads on mobile phone antennas as part of a measurement campaign. A bar grille was installed at the outlet of the wind tunnel nozzle for this purpose. This does not yet explain all the effects that were previously observed. The turbulence has the greatest effect on the flow around the support mast, which, as a smooth cylinder with a transverse flow, still has a significant proportion of laminar flow, which disappears at high turbulence.
