Easy glider in landing configuration on cardanic suspension in the wind tunnel
At the end of the third measurement campaign for the Fraunhofer AlbaCOPTER project, a scaled-down demonstrator called Easy Glider was brought into the wind tunnel. It is based on a commercially available electric flight model, but the centre wing section was replaced by a 3D-printed assembly that carries the outriggers for the swivel propellers. Mounted on a cardanic suspension, it was possible to test the control around all three axes when the airflow approached.
Prior to this, measurements were continued on the larger configuration - with new propellers with a greater pitch, which also generate sufficient thrust in cruise flight.
