Stefan Holtzhausen studied mechanical engineering at the TU Dresden from 2001 to 2007, specialising in lightweight construction and plastics technology. As a student assistand he worked mainly on the acoustic characterisation of multilayer composites. As an intern at the "Composites" department of Schunk Kohlenstoff GmbH, he was jointly responsible for the design, calculation and prototype production of large fan blades made of carbon fibre composites.
Since completing his studies, he has been working as a research assistant at the chair in the area of reverse engineering.
His areas of work include 3D digitising and the development of automated evaluation strategies for scan data. Furthermore, he is responsible for the area of industrial image processing and the development of algorithms for the evaluation of computer tomography data.
