General tolerance values for surface profile
New version of DIN 2769 on behalf of DIN NA 152-03-02 AA
The current standards for geometric product specification contain only sparse information on the definition of general tolerances. ISO 22081 only specifies general rules but no concrete tolerance values. The supplementary DIN 2769 also contains no specification for variable tolerance values for the surface profile tolerance. However, it is precisely these variable tolerance values that are required by many users, as a single tolerance value for the entire component is often too general and therefore unsuitable for use in practice.
On this website, we present the newly developed proposal for defining variable tolerance values for the general surface profile tolerance. Three variants and a table with tolerance classes and values were developed to determine the tolerance values.
Test and evaluate the proposal! Send us STEP models by e-mail to one of the addresses given and we will apply the procedure to the STEP models sent to us. The procedure for determining tolerance values and the use of the test offer are described in more detail here.

You will receive a textured 3D PDF back, which contains a simple visual representation of the tolerance values for each surface.
The WIPANO project 3D-i-AllgemeinTol is therefore working on a new version of DIN 2769 on behalf of the DIN standards committee. The draft standard is to be completed by 09/2025.
