Summer School on Lagrangian Approaches to Multiphysics Two-Phase Flow
The Summer School on Lagrangian Approaches to Multiphysics Two-Phase Flow will take place within the prestigious frame of the CISM events from September 8 to 12, 2025.
The course will focus on Lagrangian concepts applied to multiphase flows in terms of physical as well as numerical approaches. They are often methods of choice to treat the particulate phase transport and polydispersity, as they allow easy introduction of microscopic models, e.g. for collision processes. Another perspective is numerical discretization. Lagrangian approaches, such as smoothed particle hydrodynamics, SPH, for the macroscopic description of fluid motion. Therefore, the course perfectly complements a typical curriculum on fluid dynamics and CFD modelling to provide a broader view, next-to the beaten track.
Lectures will be given by Jan Pozorski, Alfredo Soldati, Mickael Bourgoin, Jochen Fröhlich, Allessandra Lanotte, and Alex Liberzon.
