Description:
Within the joint research project DARWIN the Center for information services and high performance computing (ZIH) and the Chair for Turbomachinery and Flight Propulsion (TFA) will make essential contributions for the further development, application and validation of innovative digital simulation and design methods as well as methods of artificial intelligence for the improvement of the interdisciplinary understanding of engine
systems. The work at TFA includes the following topics:
- Robust and automated generation of digital twins from engine components
- Probabilistic aerothermal study of production variations
- Measurement of roughness and wear effects and their feedback into simulation models
- Simulation-based evaluation of roughness
- Application of methods of machine learning to design surrogate models for predicting roughness parameters
