Research interns from North America, the UK, and Ireland for doctoral students at universities in Germany!

Are you pursuing a doctorate and conducting research in the natural sciences, life sciences, engineering, or computer science? Would you like to recruit an intern from North America, the UK, or Ireland to support your experimental work?

Offer an internship as part of your doctoral thesis or research project.

RISE Germany matches bachelor's students from North American, British, and Irish universities for research stays at German universities or non-university research institutions.

The DAAD supports the research internships, which take place during the summer months, with scholarships funded by the Federal Foreign Office and through institutional partnerships.

The research interns receive a monthly stipend, international travel expenses, insurance benefits, and are invited to the RISE meeting in Heidelberg in July 2026.

The application period is from August 15 to September 30, 2025
