Joint Start-Up Workshop in Assistive Technologies between TU Dresden and IIT Madras Research Park | 12. - 14. August 2024
TUD Dresden University of Technology, as part of its Excellence Strategy, is expanding its collaboration with IIT Madras Research Park by launching a start-up exchange initiative. This flagship program, led by Prof. Pinkwart from TUD|Excite, aims to internationalize startups at TUD by fostering innovation, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship, and by connecting our inventions to the Global South. IITM Research Park, one of India's oldest innovation hubs, supports over 350 established startups with a projected cumulative revenue of $6 billion. Its close affiliation with IIT Madras (ranked No. 1 in India) and its renowned talent pool of students and entrepreneurs make it a natural partner for TU Dresden, which has existing MoUs in place.
The strategic partnership will commence with a joint startup workshop from August 12-14, featuring participants from India and Saxony, focusing on Assistive Technologies (AT). This workshop will cover cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, sensor technology, digital health, robotics, lightweight construction, and 3D printing. The delegation from India will include approximately 30 entrepreneurs, including 14 startups, researchers, and companies including Microsoft. Many of these participants specialize in developing AI, IoT, and user-machine interface applications for people with various disabilities.
In the long run, the strategic partnership will extend beyond Assistive Technologies to foster broader cross-border innovation and technology transfer.
If you are excited to be a part of this startup exchange initiative and share one or more of the points below, then contact us:
