For what purpose will personal data be processed?
Your personal data will be processed
- a) for the purpose of implementing the TUD Global Citizenship Certificate program and its individual components (modules, events and activities); for sending announcements, save the dates, information on program-relevant events (e.g. introductory event "TUD Global Citizenship Lab" as well as other thematic and/or networking events) by email; for sending the program's own newsletter by email and certificates by email and/or internal mail or post.
b) for organizational purposes (communication with internal and/or external partners for the implementation of the above-mentioned events and activities)

What is the legal basis for the processing of personal data?
The legal basis for the processing of personal data for the above-mentioned purposes is Art. 6 para. 1 sub-para. 1 lit. a GDPR (Consent).
What personal data will be processed?
Only the personal data provided during registration will be processed.
How long is personal data processed/stored?
The data will be stored for up to 12 months
- after successfully completing the TUD Global Citizenship Certificate program, you will receive a certificate.
- The date of issue of the certificate after your de-registration and thus the official termination of your status as a (doctoral) student at TU Dresden applies.
If you leave the TUD Global Citizenship Certificate program early without receiving a certificate, your data will be stored for 3 months after your withdrawal from the program.
Will personal data be transferred to third parties?
For the implementation of the introductory event "TUD Global Citizenship Lab" as well as other thematic and/or networking events, a list of participants will be passed on to the TUD-internal and/or external cooperation partners of the event concerned, if necessary, which may contain information such as your name, gender, nationality, subject of study or doctorate, and, if applicable, matriculation number and the number of semesters.
These details are used exclusively for the purpose of preparing and organizing the events.
What general rights do data subjects have?
Voluntariness and withdrawal (Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR)
The submission of personal data is voluntary. You can refuse or withdraw your consent at any time without stating a reason to the person responsible for the data. The withdrawal shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing that took place on the basis of the consent given up until the withdrawal. If consent is withdrawn, the data stored up to that point will continue to be stored due to budgetary regulations (for accounting purposes with the funding body, the German Research Foundation), but will not be used for any other purposes.
Right of access to personal data (Art. 15 GDPR)
You have the right to obtain information on the data processed concerning your person, as well as the possible recipients of this data, at any time. You are entitled to a reply within one month after the responsible party receives the request for information.
Right to rectification, erasure and restriction (Art. 16–18 GDPR)
You may request that TU Dresden correct or erase your personal data and/or restrict its processing at any time.
Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
You may request that the responsible party send you your personal data in a machine-readable form. Alternatively, you can request the direct transfer of your personal data to a different responsible party, insofar as this is possible.
Right to lodge a complaint (Art. 77 GDPR)
You can contact TU Dresden's Data Protection Officer (see above) at any time and, in the case of a complaint pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR, the supervisory authority for data protection.
