Hermann Krone Collection
The Krone Collection preserves the endowment of the photographer, scientist, university lecturer and publicist Hermann Krone (1827-1916). In 1907, he handed over the "Historisches Lehrmuseum für Photographie", a museum-like set of photographic charts and tableaus created for didactic purposes, to the newly founded Institute for Scientific Photography at Dresden Technical University (today's Institute of Applied Physics). The collection contains 137 didactic charts with more than 1,200 images which were produced using various techniques, as well as 10 tableaus featuring approximately 120 daguerreotypes. About 900 negatives, slides and stereoscopies as well as interference colour photos are also part of the collection.
