Academic Heritage: The Collections and Exhibitions
As a central unit of the university, the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections is in charge of preserving the collections of scientific, technological and art objects. It assists the heads of collections in making the scientific collections available for research and teaching, as well as with the assessment of the scientific value, cataloguing and protection of items in the collection. The Office oversees the university’s extensive art collections and provides advice pertaining to artistic and interior design and representation, the preservation of historical monuments, as well as topics relating to university history. The Academic Heritage of TUD maintains a permanent exhibition comprised of numerous art collections, and mounts alternating exhibitions in the Altana Galerie at Görges-Bau.
