Bayer Thrombosis Research Award 2027

The Bayer Thrombosis Research Award aims to encourage the work of promising research talents, bridging the spheres of Life Science and clinical practice for the benefit of patients with thromboembolic diseases. The award is presented every 2nd year with a prize of €30,000 for outstanding achievements in basic and clinical thrombosis research with particular focus on the diagnosis, prevention and therapy of thromboembolic diseases, including epidemiology and health policy approaches.

It is presented every second year and comes with a prize of €30,000.

Suitable candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Outstanding early-career scientists working in a German-speaking country (Germany, Austria, or Switzerland) or those who have completed significant parts of their scientific training in the German-speaking world.
• A proven track record of scientific excellence.
• Completion of a PhD or MD.
• Age younger than 38 years.
• Demonstration of exceptional achievements in basic or clinical research related to thrombosis, particularly focusing on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of thromboembolic diseases, including epidemiology and health policy approaches.
