Campus University Medicine: 22nd Long Night of Sciences – “The Night That Makes You Smarter”
On Friday, June 20th, the 22nd Dresden Long Night of Sciences invites you to experience live research from 5 PM to midnight under the motto “The Night That Makes You Smarter“. The University Medicine Dresden campus will also offer numerous events for visitors of all ages interested in learning more about medicine and medical research at the University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine at TU Dresden.
The program includes informative lectures on various topics - from ventilation in intensive care units and ethics in clinical studies to the possibilities of palliative care - as well as workshops on the use of AI in the operating room and building a family tree. Creative science slams provide insights into cancer medicine and neuroscience, while exciting experiments from nuclear medicine and proton therapy, along with guided tours through treatment and training facilities, round out the offerings. Of course, the “Teddy Hospital” will once again open its doors to the youngest visitors.
A current program flyer provides a quick overview. Activities for children are specially marked. To keep hunger and thirst at bay during the event, various food and drink stands will be available - also listed in the flyer.
The following buildings on the university hospital campus, located between Pfotenhauerstraße, Fetscherstraße, and Blasewitzer Straße, will be open:
- Building 21 (University Center for Children and Women)
- Building 27 (Diagnostic-Internal-Neurological Center)
- Building 32 (Central Emergency Department)
- Building 59 (Surgical Center for Visceral, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery)
- Building 91 (Medical-Theoretical Center)
- Building 130 OncoRay
- Building 136: National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT/UCC) Dresden
