New talent for radiation research: Anna Dubrovska appointed as a Henriette Herz Scout for the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

Prof. Anna Dubrovska
Prof. Anna Dubrovska, Group Leader at Dresden's OncoRay - National Center for Radiation Research in Oncology, has recently been selected as a scout for the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in the Henriette Herz Scouting Program. This prestigious scouting program allows Anna Dubrovska to select three excellent post-docs from abroad and recommend them for a Humboldt research fellowship at Dresden's OncoRay.
Anna Dubrovska has been a tenured Professor of Biomarkers for Individualized Radiooncology at OncoRay since 2016. OncoRay is a center for radiation therapy jointly operated by the Faculty of Medicine at TU Dresden, the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, and the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital. She is always on the lookout for additional scientists for her team, which is currently working on the development of biomarkers for individualized radiotherapy and radiosensitization of tumors using combination strategies.
“I am delighted that the Henriette Herz Scouting Program will now provide me with the opportunity to bring both young research talents and experienced researchers to Dresden for a stay of up to two years,” Anna Dubrovska says. Unlike in standard application procedure, candidates can immediately start their projects at OncoRay after formal approval. “Training and mentoring the next generation of researchers at our institute is essential to advancing the science and technology in radiation oncology. Our team of Biomarkers for the Individualized Radiotherapy is excited to welcome the new talent!” the professor adds.
The scouts are selected through a competitive peer-review process. The program aims to foster an international and diverse research environment and to boost the proportion of women among the scholarship holders.
