On November 14, the CRTD's Fr1da study team informs about type 1 diabetes and early detection at and in the Dresden funicular railway
The number of children developing type 1 diabetes is increasing. The Fr1da study uses just a few drops of blood to determine whether a child has an early stageof the disease. If so, the disease can be optimally treated from the beginning, preventing severe metabolic disorders. Participation in future intervention studies or therapies to prevent or delay type 1 diabetes may also be possible.
The Fr1da study is currently being offered in Bavaria, Saxony, Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Hessen and Rhineland-Palatinate. All children aged 2 to 10 can be tested. Participation in the early detection of type 1 diabetes is voluntary and free of charge. Children and adults aged 1to 21 with a close relative with type 1 diabetes can participate in the Fr1da study for relatives throughout Germany.
To find out more, the Fr1da study team from the CRTD, in cooperation with Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe, will be providing information on World Diabetes Day on November 14, 2025, between 6 and 8 p.m. at and in the Dresden funicular railway.
