Prof. Sophie Jarraud
Sophie Jarraud is Professor in clinical microbiology at the Medical Faculty and hospital practitioner at the Institute for Infectious Agents in Lyon, France. She is head of the French National Reference Centre (NRC) for Legionella since 2012 and is an executive committee member of the ESGLI since 2015. She is a strong expertise in Legionella diagnosis, outbreak investigation, molecular biology and NGS (co-responsible for Sequencing Platform GenEPII in Lyon), and in teaching (responsible for infectious disease teaching in medicine university). She is also co-head of the “Legionella pathogenesis” team at the International Centre for Infectiology Research in Lyon. Her research focuses on gaining a better understanding of bacterial, human, and environmental factors that impact the acquisition and severity of legionellosis.
