Independent Trustee Office

The Independent Trustee Office is a legally, personally, and physically independent institution of the TU Dresden assigned to the Department of Medicine. In the context of medical research projects, personal data must be managed with great care and under high-security precautions. The Trustee Office supports the separation of identifying data from medical data at an early stage of the research process and the subsequent management of the data in compliance with the highest data protection guidelines. In addition, different pseudonymized medical data on an individual is linked with various sources providing secondary data supplies (for example, health insurance data). Furthermore, the Trustee Office offers the possibility of recontacting study participants (for example, by sending questionnaires or invitations to follow-up studies or the notification of incidental findings) and, if requested, the Trustee Office is also handling the administration of consent forms.

The services of the Trustee Office can be used by scientists of the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital Dresden as well as externals.
