Programme objectives
ONCOnnect offers young scientists targeted curricular offerings and opportunities for interaction during the doctoral phase in order to acquire a comprehensive understanding of clinical application in addition to expertise in their own field of research. This applies in particular to the acquisition of medical skills, an understanding of clinical challenges and the development of a common transdisciplinary language. By working together with various healthcare professionals and in exchange with patients, the fellows are given a holistic impression of the profession of medical scientist. As part of the DSCS, ONCOnnect will initiate the structured and patient-oriented training of medical scientists at the Faculty of Medicine and lay the foundation for sustainable translational career paths in oncology.
