The call for MeDDrive funding 2027/2028 is open until 30.04.2026.
MeDDrive funding is aimed at young doctors and natural scientists who have completed their doctorate (or license to practice medicine) and are applying for funding for their research project under the supervision of an experienced scientist. The personal funding with up to €30,000 in material and personnel resources (own position and sHk) and a duration of two years promotes independent, innovative and future-oriented questions that clearly stand out from ongoing or applied for third-party funded projects of the clinic/institute. Your clinic/institute will provide you with an appropriate amount of working time and the necessary basic equipment to work on the MeDDRive project.
MeDDrive funding is awarded in a multi-stage competitive selection process (formal and content-related examination, "MeDDrive Days" review colloquium). Applicants should have initial research experience and publications. Applications can be submitted until 30.04.2026 via the online application form. Incomplete applications or applications not submitted by the deadline cannot be considered. For further information, please refer to the MeDDrive call for 2026. Applying for funding
You can apply for a maximum of EUR 15,000 per year and a maximum total of EUR 30,000. You can apply for material and personnel funds.
Personnel funds: pro rata own position and funds for Student Assistants
Material resources: material costs, laboratory consumables, etc. - as the distinction between material resources and investment funds is not always clear, please clarify in advance of an application with LOG-A4 Purchasing (see Carusnet for contact details) whether your support requirements are material resources and attach the e-mail correspondence.
Investment funds and travel expenses: no funding possible via MeDDrive, you can submit a Travel for Science application for travel expenses if necessary.
