Overview
The Wrigley Prophylaxis Prize will be awarded for the 31st time in 2026 under the patronage of the German Society for Tooth Preservation (DGZ). The prize is sponsored by the information and research program founded in 1989
Wrigley Oral Health Program (WOHP) of Mars GmbH, Germany. The aim is to promote dental prevention - in particular caries prevention - in research, teaching and practice.
The Wrigley Prophylaxis Award honors outstanding work and projects on preventive dentistry from science, practice and public health in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It supports studies and initiatives that deal with the prevention of oral diseases and the links between oral and general health.
The prize encourages cooperation between universities and the public health sector in order to promote the initiation and planning of studies and the integration of research and practice. It is awarded in the fields of science and practice & society. The aim is the rapid implementation of new preventive concepts in society.
- The prize is endowed with a total of € 12,000.
- The prize is awarded for one or more outstanding works on scientific research and implementation of dental prophylaxis as well as for purely practical projects - including those on a smaller scale - to promote oral health. Work and project descriptions can be submitted in the following areas

- The award ceremony will take place in mid-September 2026 at the DGZ
Annual Meeting in Heidelberg, Germany.
