26.05.26 DSCS Key Competencies: How to become a professor?
A professorship is the ultimate goal in an academic career, but the path to achieving it can be challenging. As well as excelling in one’s field of study, one has to go through a rigorous selection process. But what does this process entail? What should one pay attention to when preparing the application documents or a negotiation strategy?
In this Key Competencies seminar, organised by the Dresden School of Clinical Science, newly appointed on-campus professors will share their insights into the appointment process. Also taking part in the discussion are academics with experience from the other side of the appointment process - as heads of the appointment committee. Dr. Patricia Grünberg, administrative director of the Barkhausen Institute and a career coach specialising in the path to professorship, will moderate the discussion.
