Global Minds Initiative Germany: The Best Minds from the Whole World
The Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space has initiated the Global Minds Initiative Germany in cooperation with the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
This initiative aims to offer international researchers career prospects in the German scientific system. The target group for this program is international researchers at various career stages, from early postdocs to established scientists and top professors. Funding is based on scientific excellence and is open to all themes.
The Global Minds Initiative builds on programs of the AvH, DFG and DAAD by allowing them to offer additional funding opportunities.
The initiative’s funds support the following AvH programs:
- Humboldt Research Fellowships for postdocs and experienced researchers
- Humboldt and Bessel Research Awards
The initiative’s funds support the following DFG programs:
- Emmy Noether-Programme
- Heisenberg-Programme
- Walter Benjamin-Programme
- Temporary Positions for Principal Investigators
