BMFTR funds "clinical studies with high relevance for patient care"
The Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) funds projects on the subject of clinical studies with high relevance for patient care.
The aim of this funding initiative is to close evidence gaps that are highly relevant for the patients concerned and for the medical care of these people in Germany.
The funding initiative serves the purpose of funding science-initiated clinical studies and systematic reviews of clinical studies according to international standards as well as concept phases for clinical studies or systematic reviews. In particular, projects that aim to close evidence gaps and are highly relevant for the patients concerned and the healthcare system are to be funded. The funding initiative also aims to further develop the methodology of clinical studies by funding corresponding accompanying research projects.
Details on the guidelines can be found on the BMFTR website . It is a two-stage procedure, project outlines must be submitted by 02.09.2026.
