Call: German University Medicine Prize

Deutsche Hochschulmedizin e.V. honors outstanding team achievements from university medicine in basic medical research as well as in clinical or translational research with the German University Medicine Award 2026.

The call for applications for the €25,000 prize can be found on the association's website (application deadline 10.07.2026). The evaluation of the team and its performance is primarily based on a max. 3-minute video.

For the faculty-internal selection, please send your expression of interest to the Department of Science Support & International Collaborations by 25.05.2026 ().

Please address the following criteria specified by Deutsche Hochschulmedizin e.V. in your expression of interest:

• the performance of the team;
• the team's ability to collaborate across locations;
• the communication of the team's performance;
• the innovative strength of the results, which were published no more than 2 years ago;
• the social impact of the innovation, in particular with regard to:
  • the relevance for patient care and/or,
  • the translation of results into application and/or,
  • the prevention of diseases.
