Christmas lecture in physics for students of human medicine and dentistry
Physics remains exciting even during Advent! On 19 December 2025, the Dean's Lecture Hall of the School of Medicine was transformed into a stage for science with surprising experiments from the fields of mechanics, optics, thermodynamics, acoustics, electricity and frequency analysis. The human medicine and dentistry students experienced an entertaining and educational journey through the physics they are familiar with, but from a new perspective. The phenomena of the experiments were presented with scientific care and a pinch of humor and explained and solved together with the students in a physically sound manner. The Christmas lecture was a successful and atmospheric review of the physics content taught in the winter semester 2025/26 and a final impulse for an exciting end to the physics lecture series for students of human medicine and dentistry.
A big thank you to all the participants who enthusiastically took part and to all the members of the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering and the Clinical Sensing and Monitoring working group who made the event possible.
