The translational character of the MSNZ is reflected in our speakers. Prof. Bornhäuser, Director of the Medical Clinic I at the UKD, has himself gone the way of a clinician scientist. It is his concern to enable a personalized career in translational cancer research for clinical and medical scientists. Because excellent research enables the best possible patient care in the fight against cancer. Also in Prof. Buchholz's research group, translation is a main focus. As a medical scientist and expert in genome editing, he and his team develop gene tools for the characterization and repair of oncologically relevant genes.
