DTOS - Dresden Translational Oncology SeminarsDresden Translational Oncology Seminar (DTOS): Dr. Henner Farin, Universität Frankfurt
Dr. Henner Farin, DKTK group leader at the Georg-Speyer-Haus, Institute for Tumor Biology and Experimental Therapy, Frankfurt will speak about „Organoid-stroma models to study of context-dependency and (immuno-)therapy responses in colon cancer“ on 08.12.2021 at the DTOS.
Dr. Farin and his team study cell signaling in intestinal stem cells and colorectal cancer (CRC). The expansion and characterization of primary cells e.g. from endoscopic biopsies allows the generation of patient-specific organoid models. Biobanks of patient-derived organoids with stromal cells are used to model tissue interactions in colorectal cancer that affect subtype characteristics and the response to therapy including CAR-T-cell immunotherapy. This allows genetic and pharmacologic perturbation experiments in different 3D tissue environments to identify phenotypic dependencies on the stromal context.
Exciting topic or interested in talking to Henner Farin about his research? Then register by mail () for an individual zoom chat after the talk.
One continuing education point can be claimed at the SLÄK for this event. The seminar will be held online via Zoom.
