The Chair of Medical Systems Biology (UCC-MSB)
Our research group is specialized in the scientific field of functional genomics and genome editing. We are analyzing mammalian cancer and stem cells by using diverse genetic tools (e.g. RNAi, CRISPR/Cas9, sequence-specific recombinases) with the aim to identify, functionally characterize and to repair disease-related genes.
Medical Systems Biology (UCC-MSB)
Systems biology and personalized medicine are two emerging research areas, which promise to transform our health system. The TU Dresden has recognized the importance of these new scientific fields by the establishment of the department of Medical Systems Biology at the University Cancer Center in 2010.
The group has since successfully established its expertise in genomics and high-throughput biology at the Faculty of Medicine Carl Gustav Carus. The technologies have rapidly evolved and are now entering into translational aspects in medicine.
