Robotic Surgery in Focus: Successful 2025 In-House Robotics Course
Inhouse Training am Da Vinci OP-Roboter
On October 23 and 24, 2025, a two-day in-house robotics course was held at the University Hospital Dresden for 20 participants of various qualification levels from Visceral/Thoracic Surgery and Urology. The Surgical Skills Lab Dresden played a leading role in organizing the event, providing the technical infrastructure and structuring the course program.
The first day offered an introduction to technological aspects and current evidence in robotic-assisted surgery, along with theoretical briefings on the Intuitive DaVinci Xi and Medtronic HUGO RAS systems. Participants in both the beginner and advanced groups then trained essential practical skills and simulated a range of robotic-assisted visceral and urological procedures.

The second day focused on advanced individual training modules, with each participant completing a one-hour hands-on session on both robotic systems.

The course received very positive feedback. Participants particularly valued the structured format, the intensive practical approach, and the opportunity to become familiar with both systems. The event significantly strengthened the robotic expertise within both participating specialties and enhanced their interdisciplinary collaboration.
Special thanks go to the companies Intuitive and Medtronic, whose valuable support played a key role in the success of the course.
