Surgical Skills Lab sets strategic priorities for 2026
During the SSLD retreat in January, key strategic priorities for 2026 were defined. Building on the experiences of the past year, the focus was placed on further developing and increasing the visibility of the Surgical Skills Lab’s core strengths.
A central pillar of this profile is expertise in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, which is set to be even more closely linked with high-quality, structured training. Modern teaching and training formats play a crucial role in fostering surgical skills and supporting the next generation of surgeons.
Research was also highlighted as a key driver of innovation and quality. Professional exchange at all levels – from clinical practice and scientific projects to the networking of doctoral students – was identified as an essential factor for continued development. This is complemented by initiatives aimed at strengthening team spirit and interdisciplinary collaboration.
With this strategic focus, the Surgical Skills Lab lays the foundation for sharpening its profile and actively shaping the future of minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
