Training & Teaching
Due to the complexity of minimally invasive surgery, special training is required to ensure the necessary precision. To this end, it is essential to support students and young colleagues early on in their surgical careers and to provide them with a sound training programme.
The Surgical Skills Lab Dresden draws on the many years of clinical experience of its lab members and the extensive technical possibilities available for training in dry and wet lab conditions, as well as on virtual reality simulators.
The team at the Surgical Skills Lab Dresden has established both internal and external training opportunities:
- Elective course ‘Minimally Invasive Surgery – Basic Skills’ for students at the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital Dresden
- ‘Basics of Laparoscopy and Robotics’ as internal training for doctors in further training at the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital in Dresden
- Certified training on ‘Basics of Minimally Invasive Surgery’ through the German Society for General and Visceral Surgery (DGAV)
